1950s Dior

Christian Dior is probably one of the most famous designers in the world. He influenced a lot of others who came after him, and even today, his work is amain source of inspiration for new designers to come. Amongst all of his looks, the one that wil always be remembered is probably the "New Look", which he created in the fifties. Jean Dawnay was a young model who worked for Dior for a couple of years. She was beautiful and modest, and had an angelic face. She was fascinated by his collections and dreamed of wearing sophisticated looks. Dior, however, had another vision for her and made her wear more elegant but girly dresses. She also played in some movies, notably in "Wonderful Things!", and was even esteemed to become the next Grace Kelly. Jean Dawnay later married a prince and became Princess Geoge Galitzine. She devoted the rest of her life to charity while maintaining an active social life by attending parties and social events. Jean Dawnay died at 91 years old, in Decembre 2016. She was the oldest 1950's Dior supermodel to live.
