The Art Institute of Vancouver is currently seeking a Career Services Advisor to support our graduates as they transition into the job of their dreams within six months of graduation.

This is supplemented by a Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, commercial art or a related field plus a minimum of two years experience in recruitment and/or career counselling.

In a nutshell, this job requires you to have a split focus between the personal interaction and administrative components, all of which occur in a heavily metrics driven environment.

The key job requirements include -

  • Working closely with graduates, Instructors and the applicable member of our Academic Affairs Team in a heavily metrics driven environment
  • Creating and maintaining graduate files on behalf of your assigned program
  • Documenting touch points with potential employers and graduates and job placement outcomes in a computerized tracking system
  • Ensuring 100% compliance as it pertains to job placement outcomes in accordance with the requirements of our regulatory bodies
  • Sharing success stories and best practices
  • Conducting marketing calls with possible employers
  • Planning and conducting employer visits and on-campus recruiting opportunities
  • Seeking employer feedback and researching industry trends
  • Making fact based recommendations, as appropriate, to aid in the development and/or enhancement of curriculum to increase employment opportunities on behalf of your  graduates
  • Capitalizing on industry networking opportunities
  • Coaching graduates on career search strategies, personal marketing, interview skills, and self-promotion methods and materials
  • Being an advocate for your graduates in the job search process, including salary negotiation
