Academic and Administration Manager

Fusion English Brisbane is a boutique ELICOS college on Margaret St in the CBD. We run NEAS-accredited General English and IELTS courses for International students.

Together with Fusion English Melbourne, we form a language training organisation which aspires to provide high quality learning outcomes for students within a caring and supportive learning environment. To help us achieve this, we are looking for a qualified Academic and Administration Manager to join our friendly, tight-knit and dedicated team of professionals.

The main responsibilities are broken down into 6 key categories, which are:

Operations:

  • Manage the day to day operation of the Campus.
  • Be the first point of contact for all stakeholders.

Student Services:

  • Manage student orientation
  • Conduct student placement tests and level allocations
  • Manage all facets of attendance
  • Look after ‘Walk in” prospective and/or trial students
  • Conduct campus tours for potential students and visiting agents.
  • Manage the production and distribution of program results and certificates for students.
  • Oversee the management of accommodation and airport pick-up providers.
  • Provide counselling (academic or otherwise) for students who need support.
  • Support the student in health and welfare matters.
  • Manage/support/promote the campus activities program

Customer Service

  • Look after ‘Walk in” prospective and/or trial students
  • Conduct campus tours for potential students and visiting agents
  • Arrange Trial Lessons for prospective students.
  • Manage induction for new staff
  • Support the National Academic Manager during the recruitment process
  • Manage all QA on the Campus
  • Manage all Key Accounts

Campus Management

  • Report Facility of resource requirements/needs to the appropriate National Manager.
  • Monitor and report issues regarding OHS to the National Administration Manager and keep the OHS defect book up to date.
  • Manage asset register
  • Manage and report on the work of service providers, i.e. cleaners.
  • Ensure the campus security processes are in place and of the level that staff and students expect. 

Compliance

  • Ensure that all processes and procedures are adhered to.
  • Ensure all requirements for NEAS, ASQA, PRISMS, ACPET are up to date and in place.

Teacher Management

  • Deliver teacher rosters every week
  • Manage and support staff when sick
  • Ensure that replacement staff are put in place in the event of absence
  • Lead the development on growing the training program
  • Promote the development of new learning opportunities, technologies, relationships and values and works collaboratively across all areas of the curriculum

Applicants must possess:

Education/Qualifications

  1. The appointee will have:
    • a degree in any field  plus an initial TESOL qualification (i.e. CELTA) and
    • Teaching Experience

 

Knowledge and Skills

  1. Management experience in an education field
  2. Previous experience working with international students
  3. Proficiency in languages other than English (desired)
