The Academy of Design Australia specialises in tertiary-level art, design and digital media. The Academy was established in 1998 to meet the demand for innovative education programs in creative, design-based studies. Graduates are prepared via a concentrated course – the equivalent contact hours of a four-year university course, delivered in three years.


As Admissions Advisor your main duties and responsibilities will include the following:

Business Development

  • Establish and develop partnerships with agents and other external collaborators for the recruitment of prospective students;
  • Connect with the targeted audience on relevant social media, communities and platforms in order to promote the institution.


  • Achieves registration and enrolment goals while conducting all activities in accordance with the highest ethical standards;
  • Demonstrates expertise with applicants wishing to adhere to courses at ADA;
  • Informs the potential students about the courses offered at ADA by means of telephone, email or in person;
  • Schedules and conducts interviews in the pursuit of qualified candidates for enrolment and determines their suitability for admission based upon career goal compatibility;
  • Sends out reminders and performs the necessary follow-ups with clients;
  • Records and maintains all information and computer data in the information system;
  • Ensures a full assessment of the candidates' files as per the basis for admission and the programs’ requirements and quotas;
  • Analyzes the candidates’ files with reference to their degrees, studies and experiences presented in support of their applications.


  • Helps with school events such as Open House activities and information sessions;
  • Writes and updates information documents;
  • Ensures compliance with the industry’s and the competition’s best practices in regards to student recruitment and the promotion of educational institutions.


  • Higher education diploma;
  • Experience and proficiency with high levels of incoming and outgoing phone calls;
  • Strong level of spoken and written English;
  • Sales or business development experience;
  • Available and willing to participate in recruitment events and activities (potentially outside of regular hours);
  • Experience in student recruitment or school administration (major asset).


The candidate needs to have demonstrable knowledge of the targeted market and ideally already possesses contacts and existing relationships with potential collaborators.

-Fast and avid learner; this resource must be comfortable with technology and able to quickly assimilate program specifications.

-Strong customer service approach; admissions advisors must be pleasant, genuine, professional and credible with clients.

-Goal oriented personality; in order to succeed, the candidate must be driven, self-motivated and able to deal with high volumes of customer service interactions.
