Biography

Motivation Letter for Professional Cooking Program [A58.11] winter 2017 Facing a career change involves leaving one’s comfort zone, as well as confronting fears and insecurities implicated in delving into unchartered territory. However, all misgiving disappears when the will and desire to undertake this new path is driven by the strength of passion. An empowering feeling invades the body, as well as the soul, and one is able to reach the goal. Having the support of family and friends is very important. It really helps to know that one has backing and some hands to hold in case of occasional stumbling. It also helps to recognize the strong personality traits that one possesses. Commitment, responsibility and creativity are some of the characteristics in my personality that I use to generate self-confidence, help me follow my dreams and confront obstacles. This will also allow me to achieve a profession that can represent satisfaction and fulfillment. Choosing LaSalle College as the institution where I will study was not by chance. It’s in response to an attentive search for a program that fits my personal projects and investment capabilities. Some important aspects in making that decision were having the opportunity to study outside my country (and also in two languages), gaining work experience with renowned chefs and intercultural exchange due to LaSalle’s international openness. I find it enriching to be able to share with people from other countries and cultures, letting me grow as a person and professional. For these reasons I have no hesitation in choosing LaSalle College as my formation center, and proceeding with my application for a student placement next year, in winter 2017. I am firmly convinced that enrolling in the Professional Cooking Program will bring out the very best in me.
