Contemporary Witchcraft

Contemporary Witchcraft was one of the three costume projects at LaSalle College for the fashion show. It was the fantasy costume project. Our initial source of inspiration was to choose a house from the series of photo collages by Mattias Jung. We had to imagine our witch living in that home and try to incorporate elements of the photo in our designs. The second requirement was to choose a historical era and incorporate certain elements of that as well. We also had to specify what type of magic our witch practices. We built our characters with a back story and used all these elements for our designs. The witch character I created, Sibyl Selenite, practices black magic and is a manifestation of a supernatural force. The historical era I selected was the Renaissance.
