For this piece I created the character ‘Frank’ your average businessman, middle aged and middle classed. Frank needs to hide his passion for Sia because if he fully immersed himself and didn’t hold himself back from showing society his true passion for Sia he would be classified as a deranged stalker by the community and not the hard working Frank who takes the bus to his mundane job like everyone else. Within the snow globe Frank is seen riding the bus, Frank and other bus goers all appear bored in their mundane lives. The thought bubble flowing from Franks mind shows Frank in his preferred element, letting it loose dancing in costume to his idol singer songwriter Sias’ music. The text ‘No one on the bus knows the real Frank’ is a linkage to Ken Gelders theory in the reader ‘Fans, Networks and Pirates’ that society demeans and degrades members of society who they know dedicate themselves to popular medias such as music even though they are just like everyone else, just like Frank.
